Legs stalking toward the camera, the whisper "Takin' a picture of, takin' a picture of me!", and the big costume reveal. Here's how to make your own Ramalama costume walk from a single photo, alone or with up to two friends, with no filming, no costume shopping and no prompt.
A daylight costume walk by @yoyavazquez_ (October 10, 2026). This is her video, not a render made with our tool. Our solo template follows this kind of take, with you in it.
What you're making
The Ramalama costume walk is a TikTok format set to Róisín Murphy's 2005 song "Ramalama (Bang Bang)". The phone films legs and shoes walking toward it for about 6–7 seconds, then on the whispered line it tilts up to reveal the whole costume, and the walker poses. (The full story is in what is the Ramalama trend.)
Ramalama AI recreates that walk with the person from your photo, dressed in the costume you pick. The render follows the original take's timing, so the reveal lands on the whisper, and the original song is added once it's done. You get a vertical 9:16 MP4 with no watermark.
How to make the Ramalama AI video in 7 steps
- Upload a photo. One clear, front-facing photo of one person.
- Pick solo or squad. Walk alone, or with 2–3 friends.
- Pick a costume. Ten Halloween costumes, or keep the outfit from your photo.
- Pick a version. Quality and length; the price is shown on each option.
- Pay or generate. Pay once at checkout with no account, or use credits.
- Download. With the song, or silent.
- Post. If you downloaded it silent, add the TikTok sound.
Step 1: Upload a photo
The photo is the only thing you give it, so it decides how good the result looks. In short: a clear, front-facing photo, good light, one person. There are more photo tips further down.
Step 2: Pick solo or squad
- Solo (on the homepage): one walker. It follows a daylight witch walk in a theme-park plaza. The whole walk is 14 seconds; there's also a 10-second cut.
- Squad (on the squad page): 2–3 friends walking together, following the night-sidewalk witch trio that made the trend huge. Upload one photo per friend. Photo 1 is the leader in the centre, photo 2 walks on the left and photo 3 on the right. With only two photos, the third walker is a stranger in the same costume theme. The whole walk is 15 seconds; there's also a 10-second cut. The squad guide has the details.
Step 3: Pick a costume
The ten costumes are witch (the default), vampire, zombie, skeleton, devil, angel, black cat, pumpkin, ghost bride and sparkly princess (a glittery ball gown). Or pick My own costume to keep the outfit you're wearing in your photo, which is the way to go if you're already dressed up.
In the squad, everyone wears the costume you pick, as a matching group look. Need inspiration? See our Ramalama costume ideas.
Step 4: Pick a version
There are three one-tap versions, all of them the whole walk (14 s solo, 15 s squad):
| Version | Price without an account |
|---|---|
| Balanced, 480p | $4.99 |
| Balanced, 720p HD | $6.99 |
| Premium model, 480p | $8.99 |
You can also customise the model (Budget, Balanced or Premium), the length (the 10-second cut or the whole walk) and the quality (480p or 720p, and up to 1080p on Premium). Custom picks are paid with credits. Balanced at 480p is the usual choice for TikTok; Premium has the finest detail.
Step 5: Pay or generate
No account: pay once at checkout for one of the three versions above. The link to your result is emailed to you.
With credits: sign in, and the credits are taken when you press Generate. Every option shows its price before you generate.
Rendering usually takes a few minutes. If a render fails, you're refunded automatically: to your card for a single video, or back to your credit balance.
Step 6: Download with or without the song
When it's done you can download:
- With the song, ready to post anywhere.
- Without the song (silent), so you can add the sound inside TikTok yourself.
Many people post silently and add the "Ramalama (Bang Bang)" sound in TikTok, so the video links to the trend's sound page. If an app mutes the song for copyright reasons, do the same: post the silent version and add the sound from the app's music library.
Step 7: Post it
If you added the sound in TikTok, nudge it in the editor until the whisper lines up with the moment the camera tilts up. Then add the trend's hashtags, #ramalama #ramalamabangbang #costumewalk #ramalamatrend #halloween #spookyseason, and the classic caption, "Did I win this trend?". Label the video as AI-generated, as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube ask.
Photo tips
- Front-facing and clear. Look at the camera, with your face sharp and nothing covering it: no sunglasses, masks or hat brims over your eyes.
- Good light. Daylight or a bright room, without heavy filters.
- One person per photo. Crop group shots first. For the squad, upload one photo per friend.
- Upper body or full body in frame if you can, so the video gets your build right.
- Already in costume? Pick My own costume, and use a photo that shows the whole outfit.
- Only you, or people who agreed. Use photos of yourself, or of friends who said yes. Photos of celebrities, film stills and photos of children are rejected.
Photos are deleted 30 days after the video is made.

Questions people ask
Do I need an account?
Not for a single video: pay at checkout and the result link is emailed to you. Credit packs need an account so your credits have somewhere to live.
Is there a free preview?
No. There's no free preview or free tier. If a render fails, you're refunded automatically.
Does the reveal land on the whisper?
Yes. The render follows the original take's timing, so the camera tilts up on "Takin' a picture of me!". If you add the TikTok sound yourself, line it up in TikTok's editor.
Can I describe my own costume?
There's no free-text costume. Pick one of the ten, or choose My own costume and upload a photo of yourself already dressed up.
Can I make it with my friends?
Yes, with the squad version: 2–3 friends, one photo each, all in the costume you pick.
Does it work with pets?
No. The templates are made for people.
How long does it take?
Usually a few minutes.
